The wide expanse of the university campus stretched before Sara like an intricate tapestry woven with countless threads of sound and movement. The late August sun sifted through clusters of maple leaves, casting dappled patterns on the cracked sidewalks where students hurried past with backpacks slung carelessly over one shoulder.
