The Worst Idea I've Ever Had

I'm sitting in the cafeteria minding my own business, poking at something the lunch lady swears is "meatloaf" but which behaves suspiciously like it might be alive, when Aasim slides into the seat across from me holding a piece of paper like it's the Declaration of Independence. His eyes are huge. His hands are shaking a little. This is a kid who once cried during a fire drill because he thought we were actually going to miss recess, so I know something serious is happening.

"Travis," he says, and his voice cracks right down the middle like a plank of wood. "Travis. You need to look at this. Right now. Put the fork down."

I don't put the fork down, because I'm not an animal, but I do lean over the tray to see what's got him so worked up.

The flyer is wrinkled in about nine places, like it's been through the wash, or possibly through several backpacks and a locker and maybe a small hurricane. But even through the wrinkles, I can make out the words at the top, big and bold and practically glowing:
