Knock, Knock, Who's There? A Very Bouncy Beginning!
The sun creeps over Bramblehop Meadow like melted butter sliding across warm toast, streaking the sky in shades of peach, gold, and the faintest whisper of pink. Dew clings to every blade of grass, turning the whole meadow into a carpet of tiny, twinkling jewels. Somewhere beneath a tangle of clover and violet roots, in a snug little burrow lined with soft moss and the smell of yesterday's sunshine, Rabbit is fast asleep — until, quite suddenly, he isn't.
"OW!"
His eyes fly open. His ears shoot straight up like two exclamation points. And his head — his poor, unsuspecting head — collides directly with the ceiling of his burrow with a soft, dusty *thump*.
"Ope!" he says, rubbing the sore spot and blinking against the dim morning light filtering through the tunnel above. "Sorry, ceiling. Didn't mean to say good morning quite so *loudly*."
But it isn't the bump on his head that has jolted him awake. No, it's something far more urgent, far more electrifying, far more *important* than any old ceiling collision.
