A heavy haze hung over the quiet town as the late afternoon sun began to dip behind the distant rooftops. Shin-chan and Nobita trudged along the cracked sidewalk, their steps slowing as an eerie tension settled like a weight on their chests. The streets, usually alive with the cheerful cacophony of children playing and neighbors chatting, now buzzed with a strange undercurrent—a murmur that was more unsettling than comforting.
Shin-chan’s sharp eyes darted from one face to another, searching for answers in the expressions that flickered before him. His usually bright and mischievous gaze darkened with confusion as he noticed how some of their classmates moved stiffly, their limbs jerking in unnatural rhythms. Nobita, walking beside him with a tentative glance, shivered, clutching his backpack straps as if they could anchor him against the growing unease.
“Did you see that, Nobita?” Shin-chan whispered, voice barely audible. “Rina from class—she almost bit that dog. What’s wrong with her?”
